SOMMER VON träumen
"Sommer Von Träumen" is the second full length album by Minneapolis-based rock band CHARN. Following the slow-burn success of their 2009 debut "These Sins of Mine," the band had demoed a catalog of new material in drummer Levi Stugelmeyer's basement studio. Excited with the results, they decided to self-produce their follow-up album with Stugelmeyer at the desk.
"Sommer Von Träumen" builds on the urgency and honesty of "These Sins of Mine," adding heavier guitars, tighter arrangements and more vocal harmonies. The newer material has a darker, more observational tone, as frontman Alex Hicks wrote many of the songs while recovering from a severely broken leg.
The album was recorded at the Nunnery (New Ulm, MN) and Cat Mansion (St. Paul, MN) and was mixed by Paul Moak at the Smoakstack (Nashville, TN)
